Thank you for considering teaching a class for Glass Stock East or West, 2010! We will be accepting submissions for classes for both events until Dec 26th, 2009. After that we will be choosing the accepted classes and will notify instructors either way before Jan 1st, 2010.
A full list of classes like last year will be posted on pages here for each event by dates posted for names that are drawn in the lottery.
To be considered we must have the following information:
Your name and email contact
Years experience, years experience teaching
Name of Class
Picture of items to be made
Brief description (no more than 250 words please!)
Skill level
Type of glass or materials and HOW MUCH for each student!
Tools required
What appx. cost for silver, etc, PER student
All classes are 4 hours, usually 2 beads/pendants can be made, whatever you can make and demo in 4 hours. A long class can be split into 2 half day classes and counts as 2 classes taught. Torch classes have 8 students. Other classes (wire wrap, PMC, Kaiser Lee Board, etc) have 12 students per class.
There is NO pay for teaching except Featured Artists, you get to take classes for teaching. For every class you get accepted, your fee is reduced $150 for GS West event and $175 for GS East event. So, if you teach 2 at GS East (tuition $550) you would attend and take 4 classes for $200 tuition. If you taught 3 at any event your fee is waived and you get to take 3 classes.
Lodging is NOT included at either event, camping is available at GS East. Food is included at GS East (that is why it is $100 more) at 3 meals a day, it will be held July 1-4rth, 2010 in PA. No food is included at GS West, held in Eugene, OR over Labor Day weekend, Sept 2-5, 2010. See pages on this website for more information on each event!
